The docufilm traces almost a century of the life of that boy who, at the beginning of 1500, in a city covered with gold that soars in admiration above a submerged forest, descends from the mountains of the Dogado to be remembered as “the most excellent of all painters “. Extraordinary artist and brilliant entrepreneur of himself, as innovative in the composition of a work as in knowing how to sell it, in a few years Titian became the official painter of Venice and a great artist sought after by the richest and most famous courts in Europe. From Ferrara to Urbino, from Mantua to Rome, up to the Spain of Charles V and his son Philip II, Titian spanned the century illuminating it with his paintings and inspiring artists of all subsequent eras. Perfect interpreter of religion and mythology and portraitist of immediate expressive power, he dominates his time by obscuring his contemporaries, always keeping faith with his motto: “art is more powerful than nature”.
